On May 10th, 165 students from nine schools gathered at Scheck Hillel Community School during CAJE’s 6th Annual South Florida Jewish Day School Robotics Festival to compete in various challenges and showcase what they’ve learned throughout the year.

Our 9 participating schoolsBrauser Maimonides AcademyHebrew Academy (RASG)Hochberg Lower School– Posnack EastLehrman Community Day SchoolMeyer Prep AcademyDavid Posnack Jewish Day SchoolScheck Hillel Community SchoolSouth Florida Jewish Academy, and Toras Emes Academyworked diligently to get ready for the Festival alongside our wonderful local coach, Ilana Traub (#LehrmanDaySchool).

Everyone knows that Legos are great connectors, but they have also proven to be a game changer for innovative education.

The Festival, and the Robotics program in general, have made a major difference with our students this year. What a gift it was for South Florida Jewish Academy to be a part of this. We are already planning for next year! As for me, this was the best educational experience I have ever had. I learned tons and loved all of it.”
- Dr. Jeffrey Popper, South Florida Jewish Academy

The Robotics Program and the Festival bring students from our diverse community of Jewish day schools and yeshivot together in their shared love of Robotics.

“At one of our assemblies, each student spoke about the highlights of their year. So many students mentioned Robotics and the Festival as being their favorite part of school. After all the hard work the kids put in, this year’s Festival exceeded our expectations!”
- Avigayil Shaffren, Toras Emes Academy

Planning is already underway for the 2023-2024 South Florida Jewish Day School Robotics Program.

Our local coach Ilana Traub is instrumental, not only in the training of our teachers at the beginning of the year, but also in the planning and scheduling of the Festival.

She has been working on a new Israel mat for students and teachers learning robotics for the first time, Israel: Land of Innovation.

This mat will be introduced next year for grades 3 to 5 that are just starting out. The mat showcases Israeli cities that are known for their technological innovations.

“This new mat, Israel: Land of Innovation, is a passion project for me! It combines my love of Robotics with my commitment to the land of Israel. It also gives our new students the opportunity to learn about robotics, coding, and problem solving while fostering their connection to our homeland.”
- Ilana Traub, Lehrman Community Day School

Israel: Land of Innovation will be introduced next year, along with the new challenge mat from First Lego League (FLL).

If your school is interested in participating, please reach out to Audrey Maman Bensoussan at audreymaman@caje-miami.org for more information.
