Registration for the 35th Anniversary Leo Martin March of the Living is now open!

In 1988, a few brave students, led by former CAJE Executive Director Gene Greenzweig, CAJE staff, and many volunteers, set out for Poland (behind the Iron Curtain at the time!) and then Israel. With its success, a life-changing experience was born.

And now, after 3 long years during which either Covid-19 or the invasion of Ukraine kept us from travelling, CAJE is thrilled to finally be able to recruit for a full March again.

CAJE likes to remind our community that Miami’s March of the Living is not only a two-week trip; it’s a six-month educational program.

Each and every year, even when we could not travel, CAJE continues to educate our seniors in high school about the Holocaust and Israel advocacy.

We give our teens the opportunity to learn from survivors and scholars.

They explore their Jewish identity and the diverse ways they practice Judaism from each other – expanding their sense of Klal Yisrael / Jewish peoplehood and getting them “out of their bubbles.”

Crucially, March participants gain the confidence and knowledge be an upstander against Holocaust denial and an advocate for Israel.

Don’t take our word for it. Here’s a testimonial from one of our teen participants:

The March of the Living changed my life by reinforcing the importance of being a part of the Jewish community, treating others with care and compassion, and in giving back to my community.”

The Miami March of the Living is not just a program that explores our history. It provides the educational tools for students to wrestle with their understanding of being a modern Jew in relation to community, Israel, and being an upstander against hate.

All Miami-Dade High School Seniors are invited to apply to this year’s Miami’s March of the Living program at miamimotl.org.

Applications will be open, and interviews will take place, during the month of October.

Applicants will be informed of their acceptance into the program in November, and information regarding the cost of the program, cancellation details, and payment plans will be provided soon.
