Below are just a few pictures of the wonderful CAJE Celebration of Learning annual fundraising event that took place this past Sunday.
Over 160 people attended and enjoyed hearing Rabbi Leonid Feldman speak about his life in the Soviet Union, which made all present truly appreciate the freedom we have to be Jewish here in the United States.
Rabbi Efrat Zarren-Zohar, CAJE’s Executive Director, articulated why CAJE is so important to our community and tied the work of CAJE to Pesach by noting that we begin the seder with Ha Lachma Anya/This is the Bread of Affliction, but we must always remember there is physical hunger AND spiritual hunger. And the work of CAJE addresses the spiritual hunger that is sometimes even more important than the physical hunger people endure.
Norman Braman presented our honoree, Maxine E. Schwartz, with an award for her dedication to furthering Jewish education in our community.
Then Maxine addressed the room and spoke movingly about how and why she devoted her adult life to this important cause.
Thank you to all who supported CAJE’s important work!
