CAJE’s Congregational Education Department awarded $40,000 in Education Enhancement Grants to 8 Congregational Education programs in Miami-Dade from the Sharsheret grant money given by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
This Educational Enhancement Grant allowed Congregational Education Directors to enhance, embellish and extend their educational experiences and offerings in ways that are integral to their programs.
Grant projects ranged from purchasing high quality materials to enrich an arts oriented experiential program to developing a yearlong professional development program for teachers and teen madrichim/ leaders to better equip them with the skills needed to transform frontal learning into meaningful and active experiential learning.
Grant recipients are Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, Bet Shira Congregation, Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus, Chabad Chayil, Skylake Synagogue, Temple Beth Am, Temple Judea, and Temple Sinai of North Dade.
Dr. Susan Jay, chairperson of the CAJE Congregational Education Committee, was instrumental in awarding the grants. She will be collaborating with Joy Schandler Director of Congregational Education at CAJE and the Congregational Education Directors in developing evaluation tools used to assess the implementation and impact of the grants.
A hearty Mazal Tov to all the grant recipients!
