The Robert Russell Early Childhood Department of CAJE is excited to introduce you to the CAJE Israel Corner, a new initiative dedicated to deepening young families’ and teachers’ connections to Israel in meaningful and engaging ways.
Each month beginning in November, we have been sharing a thought-provoking article designed to help parents and educators bring Israel into their classrooms and homes in developmentally appropriate ways.
Written by early childhood education experts Rabbi Dr. Meir Muller and Ms. Alana Gelnick, these articles provide insights, book recommendations, activities, and songs that foster a love and understanding of Israel.
Our goal is to support parents and educators in making Israel a vibrant and joyful part of their young children's learning experiences.
We recognize that Miami’s Jewish community has a deep-rooted connection to Israel. Many Miami parents have visited the country, and Zionist identity remains strong, thank G-d!
However, we also acknowledge that younger generations will likely be navigating more complex conversations about Israel in a post-October 7th world.
The CAJE Israel Corner seeks to provide families with the tools to nurture a positive and confident connection to Israel in a way that aligns with Jewish values and educational best practices.

This month’s article is a perfect example of what we’ve been offering each month and what’s to come.
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we explored the inspiring connection between Dr. King’s legacy and Israel.
Did you know that Israel is the only country in the Middle East with a street named after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.?
Located in Jerusalem, Israel’s capital, this street stands as a lasting tribute to his vision of justice.
In Israel’s beautiful Galilee region, you’ll also find The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Forest and another forest dedicated to his wife, Coretta Scott King.
Through songs, stories, and discussions, we highlight how Dr. King’s message of justice, unity, and equality aligns with Jewish values and Israel’s own diverse and resilient communities.
We’d love to hear from you how else we can bring the beauty of Israel into the hearts and minds of our youngest learners, their teachers and families.
