Worry is a waste of your time...

“Worry is a waste of your time and diminishes your health/wellbeing. As human beings, we should do whatever we have in our power to do to make the situation better. Then when we can’t do anything else, we stop and accept that the rest is up to the Holy One. That acceptance is called exercising the middah (quality/characteristic) of bitachon (trust). If you’re a control freak like me, that’s not easy to do. But if you keep trying to internalize this message, and you recognize the logic in it (obviously we aren’t even slightly in control on this one), then you can learn how to stop worrying and embrace bitachon. And of course, we can always pray— putting our powerful intentions out into the world. May we all be safe and secure during the upcoming storm.”
