Valerie Mitrani is Director of Day School Strategy and Initiatives at the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE) in Miami, FL and a Program Consultant for the Jewish New Teacher Project (JNTP) based in New York, NY.   Valerie has been a member of the CAJE team since 2002 and is recognized as a national leader in professional learning and teacher development.  She has held numerous portfolios at CAJE in which she has applied her expertise in strategic planning, professional learning, program design, and educational leadership.  In her current role, she oversees professional development for Jewish days schools.

Prior to 2002 Valerie served as Assistant Principal for the Religious School of Temple Beth Am in Pinecrest, FL for 3 years and as Director of Youth Services for 2 years.  Valerie received her BA from Emory University (1994) and her Joint Masters in Jewish Communal Service-Education and Near Eastern Judaic Studies from the Hornstein Program at Brandeis University (1997).  Valerie was a fellow in Brandeis University’s Institute for Informal Jewish Education and is member of the Learning Forward Academy class of 2012.  Valerie is also credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Valerie and her husband Jesse are the proud parents of Ellie, Lilly, and David.
