Assistant Director of March of the Living & Teen Engagement CAJE Teen Department | Miami-Dade County, FL (Hybrid)

Are you passionate about shaping meaningful experiences for Jewish teens, fostering strong relationships, and contributing to the educational and strategic growth of a dynamic department? The Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE-Miami) is seeking an Assistant Director for the March of the Living program and Teen Department to help lead, strengthen, and advance impactful teen programs and initiatives.

As the Assistant Director, you will play a central role in both the execution and advancement of Teen Department programs. This position combines program leadership, educational planning, strategic collaboration, and relationship-building to ensure our teens thrive and contribute meaningfully to a vibrant Jewish future.

This role is ideal for a strong professional who excels at managing complex programs, coordinating multiple moving parts, and delivering high-quality participant experiences, while also able to think strategically, contribute ideas, support educational visioning, and take increasing ownership over time. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Senior Director and Teen Department team to strengthen program implementation, participant engagement, educational outcomes, and departmental growth.

Primary Responsibilities (included but not limited to)

March of the Living Program Leadership

  • Serve as the primary staff lead for the Miami March of the Living program, overseeing planning, coordination, and execution under the supervision of the Senior Director
  • Manage the full program lifecycle, including recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, preparation, travel coordination support, and post-program follow-up
  • Serve as a key liaison with International March of the Living staff, ensuring alignment across program expectations, scheduling, and execution
  • Support the development and implementation of the program itinerary, working with vendors, partners, and internal staff to ensure a seamless and meaningful experience
  • Maintain awareness of program budget parameters and support implementation accordingly
  • Lead all participant and parent communication, ensuring clarity, consistency, and timely follow-through
  • Oversee tracking of participant engagement, attendance, and readiness throughout the program
  • Oversee recruitment, outreach, and communication with participants and families, in coordination with the Teen Department Operations Manager and the March of the Living Program Manager, who support paperwork, payments, and program logistics
  • Coordinate closely with the March of the Living Program Manager and Supervisor to align educational components with logistics
  • Support the recruitment, preparation, and coordination of staff and chaperones
  • Implement pre- and post-program educational experiences and evaluation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and families throughout the program cycle
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage a complex, high-stakes program involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, and moving parts
  • Contribute to strengthening participant experience, educational framing, and overall program impact

IsraelNow & JTEENConnect Program Leadership

  • Lead the implementation of IsraelNow and potential other middle school programs, including both educational and engagement components
  • Plan and develop session content and educational experiences, with final approval from the Senior Director
  • Facilitate sessions and group experiences in a way that is engaging, relevant, and developmentally appropriate
  • Help shape meaningful educational experiences that support Jewish identity development, leadership growth, and connection to community and Israel
  • Ensure a strong and organized participant experience across all aspects of the program
  • Oversee recruitment, outreach, and communication with participants and families, in coordination with the Teen Department Operations Manager, who supports paperwork, payments, and program logistics
  • Contribute ideas and educational insight to strengthen program curriculum, structure, and participant engagement

Strategic Contribution & Departmental Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director on program development, educational direction, and departmental priorities
  • Contribute ideas and insight to strengthen program design, participant experience, and overall impact
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives, departmental goals, and new program development as needed
  • Assist in evaluating program effectiveness and identifying areas for growth and improvementHelp identify trends, opportunities, and participant needs that can strengthen Teen Department offerings and community engagement
  • Contribute thoughtfully to conversations surrounding educational vision, recruitment strategy, teen engagement, and departmental growth
  • Support cross-program alignment and continuity across Teen Department initiatives

Participant Engagement & Communication

  • Conduct outreach to prospective and current participants and families via phone, email, and text
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with teens and parents to support recruitment, retention, and overall engagement
  • Follow up consistently to ensure completion of requirements and active participation
  • Track communication and maintain organized records of outreach and engagement
  • Serve as a trusted and responsive resource for participants and families throughout the year

Program Execution & Department Support

  • Execute assigned projects with strong attention to detail, follow-through, and a commitment to producing polished, on-brand, and high-quality materials
  • Manage timelines and ensure tasks are completed on schedule
  • Exercise sound judgment, initiative, and problem-solving in managing programs and participant needs
  • Take direction and implement feedback effectively
  • Support Teen Department programs and initiatives as needed
  • Represent the Teen Department at community events, panels, and partner engagements

  • Balance execution with the ability to contribute thoughtfully to program and departmental growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees in education, nonprofit management, or a related field are a plus
  • 5–8+ years of experience in youth programming, education, or community engagement
  • Experience managing programs from planning through execution, ideally including immersive or travel-based programs
  • Experience facilitating educational sessions and leading group experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organization and follow-through
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with teens, parents, and community stakeholders
  • Comfort with outreach and relationship-building, including phone communication
  • Knowledge of Israel and/or Holocaust education is a plus
  • Proficiency in Hebrew or Spanish is a plus
  • Flexibility to travel in the US and aboard as well as work evenings and Sundays as required
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. CAJE is unable to provide employment sponsorship for this position.

What we Offer

  • Salary range: $75,000-$80,000 commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package: Includes health, dental, and pension plan
  • Generous time off: 22 vacation days, 12 sick days, early Friday closures for Shabbat, and holiday closures
  • Hybrid work environment: Candidates must reside in South Florida, as this position is not remote
  • Eligibility: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
